Online Dealer Diagnostics
Utilising ODIS main dealer online diagnostic equipment we are able to diagnose & repair to the same level as the main dealership. The ensures that we can diagnose and repair your vehicle quickly and efficiently, giving you a service equal to that of the main dealership, with a vastly reduced price.
Our equipment gives us the ability to:
- Perform software updates
- Perform Software Version Management updates & activations
- Program/re-program ECU's
- Perform online coding
- Remove component protection on new & used components
- Perform key adaptations and add new keys
- Perform injector coding and minimum quantity adaptations.
Servicing & Digital Service Schedule
At Jon-Son Motors we provide the same level of service as a main dealership. We will provide a main dealer specification service for your vehicle, maintaining the manufacturers warranty and keeping you on the road. This includes:
- High quality 'Original Equipment' parts
- The exact service specification for your vehicle according to age and mileage (Copy presented to customer)
- Service book stamped with VAG specialist stamp (maintains vehicle's value)
- Digital Service Schedule online entry & print out (Should your vehicle require this)
The Digital Service Schedule applies to all vehicles built from November 2012 onwards, this means that these vehicles will now have their entire service history stored electronically in a secure online database. We will perform the online entry for your vehicle and provide you with a print out for your own records. The new online system ensures that vehicle history is maintained and allows any specialist/dealer to check your vehicles service history. The system provides protection against forgery or the records being lost & proof of service work to protect your vehicles warranty
Maintaining a full and up-to-date service history which is trustworthy and accurate will also help preserve the resale price of your vehicle.
Your Manufacturers Warranty Explained
In October 2003 European Union legislation affecting the motor trade came into force. Its full title is 'Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002'.
This legislation changes the way cars may be serviced and repaired and gives vehicle owners a lot more freedom in their decision as to who should maintain and repair their vehicles. Before Block Exemption Regulations it was very difficult to have cars, which were still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, serviced anywhere except a main dealer.
Now motorists can use any garage of their choice to service their cars without invalidating the manufacturer's warranty, subject to:
- The service being carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's servicing schedules and is recorded
- Any parts used are of 'appropriate quality' and are recorded
The Office of Fair Trading states that the new Block Exemption Regulations prohibit vehicle assemblers' warranties from including conditions requiring that:
- All normal maintenance be provided within the vehicle makers' network
- All parts used must be the vehicle assembler's 'original spare parts'
Therefore Motorists and Garages are no longer forced to use parts supplied from the Vehicle Assembler in order to maintain the Vehicle's Warranty. There is a new definition of 'original spare parts' and 'matching quality parts' that is based on the quality of the component, and these parts may be used when servicing vehicles and purchased through the independent aftermarket.
To summarise, having your car serviced by us will not affect your manufacturers warranty and will provide you with main dealer quality service at vastly reduced rates.
Retrofitting
Just bought your new car but missing that feature that you always wanted? Not to worry We can help. Jon-Son Motors can install any factory fitted optional extra as an aftermarket fitment, with few exceptions. Installing modules, switches, wiring & other components to factory specification, your vehicle, when completed, will be equivalent to a vehicle originally specified with your choice of optional extra from the factory.
Utilising our main dealer diagnostics we are able to program new modules, lifting the component protection and coding them. This means you are guaranteed our excellent in-house expertise throughout the whole duration of your vehicle's time with us.
